Saturday Survey: Is Your Dog an Athlete

My kids started their basketball season this week, and my youngest wanted to bring one of the dogs to practice, thinking she might be as talented as Air Bud. What about your dogs? Do they play any sports?

My dog used to play soccer with me. She would block the ball and run with it the opposite direction. She was a good goalie too. We used to walk to the soccer field at the middle school and play. She liked to play football with the neighborhood kids too. Especially tackling and then licking them profusely when she got them down, followed by stealing their ball and running away with it. They never caught her either until she got distracted or tired.
My dog, an almost 10 month old Westie, can play soccer, and is learing the rules of basketball. All of the boys who live in the neighborhood love him and during the summer they spent hours playing soccer with him. I don’t want to brag, but Alex is extremely intellegent, he learns a trick a day.
