Dog Cruelty in Michigan

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again:  IF YOU CAN’T PROPERLY CARE FOR A DOG, DON’T GET ONE!!!

Recent news from Berrien Springs, MI:

A dog named Chance was found lying by the side of the road, suffering from a severe case of neglect.  His ribs and backbone were showing through his skin due to severe malnutrition and dehydration, and he had infected pressure sores all over his body from lying on hard surfaces. He also had a heartworm infection.

As if that weren’t bad enough, the dog also had a broken leg, and it too was infected.  Rather than put the dog down, workers at the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan amputated the leg and are nursing the dog back to health.

Byron Tate, the gentleman who found Chance and took him to the Humane Society, is considering adopting the dog after he heals.

CrimeStoppers is looking for Chance’s former owner.  If you have any information, please call 269-288-STOP.
