Shelter Sunday: Jenny’s Hope Rescue, Chepachet, RI

Meet Brownie!  (I had to pick a dog with a bakery-type name today because we’re going to see the Cake Boss on tour tonight!  So exciting!)  But I digress.  Brownie is a Boxer / American Staffordshire Terrier being fostered by Jenny’s Hope Rescue in Chepachet, RI.

Brownie was found wandering around the Yonkers train station. Although he was scared, he was clearly used to and fond of people. He knows he is well cared for at the shelter and he is patiently waiting for a family to take him home. He is a wonderful dog, and extremely handsome…Brownie is about 4 yrs old and has been here over 2 yrs.  Please fill out our adoption application to be considered for this darling.

Please note this dog is being sheltered in Yonkers, New York.  I had a devil of a time finding a rescue organization in Rhode Island that actually keeps its dogs in Rhode Island!  Many of them were cross-posting for shelters in Tennesee, so I figured NY was closer.  It seems that Rhode Island has a much bigger problem with cats than with dogs.  Many of the shelters had pages and pages of adoptable cats, but only one dog.  Wonder why????

If you’re near Rhode Island (or even NY), why not reach out to Jenny’s Hope Rescue by contacting Leslie, the volunteer adoption coordinator, at 201- 981-3215 or email her at crysros1 AT aol DOT com.  If you’re somewhere else, stop by PetFinder’s Shelter Center to find adoptable dogs near you.

Until next time,

Good day, and good dog!

  1. Browniekins certainly looks very good-natured – a trait boxers are supposed to have. I hope some equally sweet-natured Mum or Dad will take him home soon.
