Best 2013 Rose Parade Float: Canines with Courage
January 1, 2013 · Print This Article
You all remember the fun dog Tillman, who has been on Natural Balance Pet Foods’ float for the past several years, right? He’s the bulldog that rides the skateboard. Well, this year, he’s on the float, but definitely not the star.
This year, he yielded his spotlight to Lucca, a war hero who gave one of his forelegs to the war on terror. Lucca was joined by a soldier who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, who surprised his wife and son by coming home atop the float. I’m waiting for the footage to come up on YouTube – it was a really sweet moment.
In the meantime, enjoy this video taken in the float-building garage. You can also follow this link to lots more info about the float, as well as about Natural Balance Pet Foods, the company founded by Dick Van Patten (from Eight is Enough – remember him?)
Until next time,
Good day, and good dog!
