After my last post on the dog’s indoor potty patch, I received numerous comments about people submitting their credit card information, but never receiving their product. This makes you wonder why the company is collecting credit card info and whether or not it is a scam.
As you know, I have tried to get a response from the company, as well as from Animal Planet, where their ads run. However, no luck so far. My next recommendation is that anyone who submitted information to try to buy an Indoor Potty Patch should fill out an identity theft complaint form through the Federal Trade Commission’s web site – let’s see if that gets any response.

I have had nothing but a good experience with the Potty Patch Product!! I ordered a Small one fof my Dashund (was just apuppy at the time) Now she has grown and Plan to purchase The Larger One too further accomedate her Full size now(about Twelve Pounds). The only mistake I made was that I ordered it for .com instead of .ca So I ended up paying in U.S. funds plus U.S.shipping and handleing. As for the product itself , it took approx. 6 weeks before I recieved it, probably held a Canada Customs for some of that time. I was even able to order replacement (grass) from the Company owner. He sent this to me from San Diego No Charge,not even thre postage that was over seven dollars. He explained alot to me about what problems he was going through because when the product was launched they really had no Idea it would take-off with such speed and was having trouble putting them into Mass Production. I had an E-Mail address for him but it must have changed due to more e-mails for him to respond too. He is a very well spoken young man and also very kind! It is not often anymore to find someone in a vertual world that does what he claims. THIS MAN DID WHAT HE SAID!!! And I am trying now to Locate the Original Potty Patch Website in Canada. Problem is there are alot of imposters out there and I will take my time to locate the correct site. If this will help you maybe you can get his personal e-mail some how The one I am providing come back as undeliverable but here it is [email protected]. i bought one of these from the store. My dogs want nothing to do with it! They would rather use pee pee pads.
I agree…THEY ARE A RIP-OFF! I also ordered the large one which has no price displayed, only to find out when I completed the order they were gonna charge me $90 bucks!
I was fortunate to be able to cancel my order on my credit card and WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE OR AD TO ANYONE!
I have this potty patch. It’s very awkward to drain & wash. Manage to drip all over the floor when I lift it to dump. Tried putting it in the shower stall to spray clean but still have the thick absorbent liner to hang up to dry. Can’t find a suitable place to do this. Measures too long to lay in a laundry tub so part of it hangs out slopping water. Ideally carrying it outdoors & using the hose on it works if you have the facility for that. And remember it has to be carried out there w/o spilling any urine.
Pretty tricky.

I really feel like I should’ve listened to this website before I ordered from pottypatch.com. For starters, it has been nearly two weeks since I ordered the Potty Patch and I have yet to receive a credit card charge. Checking the order status states that they’re ‘awaiting credit card approval.’ It takes two weeks to charge a credit card? I think not.
Second, I received a phone call two days ago from a pair of extremely rude telemarketers. They wanted to sign me up for an auto charging program that provided me with some kind of coupons or discounts. After repeatedly telling the woman on the other end I was not interested, I finally had to get hostile and just tell her I wanted to opt out. She finally backed down, but not before wasting fifteen minutes of my time.
Now the really bad news. Tonight I received a text message from my credit card company asking me if I made a purchase in a town that I don’t live in or near in the amount of $320. Needless to say, I did not, and it most definitely was a fraudulent charge. I’ve had this account for over three years and NEVER had an issue with unwarranted charges – and now two weeks after using this website, fraud shows up on my account.
Too coincidental for me to not take notice – STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE AND THIS PRODUCT.
and P.S. – Someone at work just ordered two! I’ll let you know if she ever received them!
I was just about to order the Potty Patch for my puppy – but now – after reading a years worth of bad comments, I think I’ll go down to the local Walgreens and look at one. Maybe I’ll get it after I open the box see how the grass feels and smells. Hell – maybe I’ll bring my puppy to the store and see if she likes it!

People really need to learn the difference between IDENTITY THEFT and CREDIT CARD SCAM.
IDENTITY THEFT- Someone is pretending to be you. They have taken over your credit card account, opened other credit in your name. They usually have all of your personal data: SSN, Date of Birth, Addresses, Etc. Identity theft usually occurs when someone gets personal information from your trash, or an irresponsible business that doesn’t have proper shredding policies, or from a phishing scam where they are pretending to be a valid business offering a loan.
CREDIT CARD SCAM – Someone offers a product to get your credit card information so they can charge your card for items that they never intend to deliver or to order additional items that you did not authorize. There is no personal information involved other than your Name, address, phone# and credit card information. F.Y.I. This kind of scam can be disputed with your bank or credit card company for full credit unless you failed to read all of the terms and accepted additional charges without knowing because you didn’t read the fine print. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS find the link stating terms & conditions usually hidden somewhere in small print on the home page. That is usually where it is hidden that you are accepting some type of autobilling or additional items. Being informed is half of the battle.
WTF? These are the kind of people who need to be taken down!!! I just got another post card with the back order bs. And they say that my order now is canceled due to wrong credit card numbe. whatever! I will be chekcing into that. I have looked for charges on my card since this is the second time I have ordered and for some weird reason the first order just vanished. uh hu? then I did get the phone call confirmation. Who does that? especailly when it was an online transaction??? Thank you Thank you for posting this site. I have been waiting for months and I’d personally like to ring somones bell!!! oh yeah and when you tell these “confirmation order” people who call constantly until they get a hold of you…that you do NOT want the 30 day trial…they KEEP ON TALKING REALLY FAST to tell you they are sending you an email to read carefully and they do NOT take NO for an answer. FAST TALKERS get you before you even know what is happening. Very disappointed and now I am more cautious because of it. =/
Henry…that is exactly what happened to me. We went through the same thing with the clicking of adds. The csr from the potty patch site says they do NOT do outsourcing calls to “confirm orders” and they do NOT have a firewall on their site which is what these ad sites are leaching onto. Then they call and “confirm” and tell you that you get a free 30 day trial AFTER you confirm your CC info. DO NOT CONFIRM CC INFO WITH THESE LEACHES! Then they take out two payments to get the ball rolling. Then you have to call to cancel the free trial (which isnt really free) They are based out of the UK…I immediately cancelled my CC’s and tho it was a pain in the you know what…I am better off for doing it. Now they cant dip into our accounts anymore. BEWARE.

I am crossing my fingers with Potty Patch. After submitting ordering information and credit card information when I ordered, I had to click through what seemed like dozens of further solicitations for automatically shipped pads, larger mats, extra mats, etc. The next day I got a “confirmation telephone call” where they reconfirmed the information (They read it to me) and then the guy says he is sending me a $50 Wal-Mart card and a Wal-Mart discount card. I made it clear I ordered nothing like that and would not accept or use them. I also inofrmed him I work for one of the country’s largest banks (which I do) and that if anything hits my charge card except the online receipt amount…they’d have heck to pay. Their ordering process and phone tactics are awfully suspicious…either that or they’re just stupid.

Trust me, I do not work for the company. I was very skeptical about returning the potty patch after reading all the negative comments. I failed to say that I didn’t receive full credit because of the shipping cost and it cost me $8.50 to send it back but the company did actually take care of the credit in a timely manner. Does it make a difference if it was ordered by internet or from TV? I ordered from TV commercial. Anything that sounds too good to be true normally is! Sure was hoping my pups would use it but they were afraid of it.
SO! Seems kind of funny to me that the last 2 post are from customes that have what seems to be good experences with potty patch. How many of you out there believe these last 2 posts? NOT me. I have to wounder who they might work for? AS i am a little suprised that we have 2 ? happy customers on this site all of a sudden. I am still trying to get my return shipping ($41.80)from potty patch for the 2 unwanted, unordered potty pateches i recieved when i did recieve 3 shippments after only ordering 1. It just does not sound right to me. I am just waiting to see if all of a sudden this site is flooded with postiive comments from “THE COMPANY”??.
i STILL BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A COMPANY THAT WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY THE MOMENT YOU PLACE AN ORDER AND THEN WHEN AND IF THEY GET AROUND TO IT THEY SEND YOU A potty patch. I ordered the potty patch in Dec. 2009 from a TV commercial and rec’d within 3 weeks. Unfortunately, my yorkies would have nothing to do with it. I called customer service about 2 weeks after I rec’d it. They gave me the info on returning. I sent it back, with a tracking number, and rec’d a credit on my credit card within one week. No problems what so ever. I just wish my pups would have adjusted to it.
I ordered two potty patches and received them in about 5 weeks. this was back in August. In four months I called to find out if I could order two pieces of replacement grass, they said there would be no charge and shipped me two replacement pieces of grass. My papillon puppy took to it right away. I put inexpensive pee pad under the grass so that I don’t have to worry about emptying the bottom tray, works great. I rinse the grass out in the bathtub about once a week and hang to dry. As for the pop issue some asked, I just pick it up right away with a piece of toilet paper and flush it, if I don’t catch it right away it gets hard and is even easier to pick up . I love it especially in the snow we’ve had where she hasn’t been able to go out without being buried from it all. I had no prioblem with them and realized it was a new product so I gave them a little leaway. I’m so glad I did I take it with me when we travel. Cricket and I love the Potty Patch
I too ordered the Potty Patch over a month ago…..my account was deducted the money but I never received the product. I am going to attempt to contact the 800 # on their sight and see where that gets me!!! I can tell ya this, I am one very angry person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

First off I want to make mention that this product is availible at Petco as well as Walgreens. And even on Ebay too. I wish I had known this BEFORE I ordered from the Potty Patch website. I ordered 2 days ago. Since then I have received several calls from an unknown source. They refuse to leave a message on our machine, the callback number has a very impersonal recording message that leaves you clueless as to WHO THEY ARE. They did finally catch one of us at home, but it wasnt the person who had ordered. They refused to talk to me as they needed to talk to the person who ordered. But they never called back when they said they would. I looked up online to see if I could find any info on this number and nothing came up. Just simply that they were from IL. They called back and I told them they could talk to ME as they didnt call back in a timely matter to talk to the card holder. I asked them who they were and they said they were calling to confirm my order of the Potty Patch. So of course, me thinking they were being legit, gave them my info over the phone. BIG MISTAKE. LESSON LEARNED. They talked real fast and told me that I had opted to get a 30 day free trial for a discounted type card for big name retail businesses. I told her I didnt want it, but she didnt listen to me. She told me that I had chosen to get this when I ordered. That I would have to call back to cancell the rewards card they emailed me info on. I called and cancelled before receiving any email. I still have yet to receive any email. They did manage to charge me a small portion of their monthly fee. We called and cancelled our debit cards. Also, I called and cancelled the order of the Potty Patch. Too bad, but I am glad that it wasnt as bad as it could have been and I can get it locally if I decide to. Upon calling to cancel as well as let them know I was very disappointed, the csr told me that they were working on getting a FIREWALL placed on their site. That I wasnt the only one that is dealing with this. So be very carefull. These people, HACKERS, will latch onto your credit card info WHILE you are in the process of ordering…then they contact you to confirm and WHAM BAM…YOU ARE SCREWED. This is the unidentified number that comes up as unknown name on caller ID: (847)440-9284…if you should call you will not get a live person. BEWARE 🙁 But if they get ahold of YOU, they will scam you into believing it is the actual site co you were ordering from.
My friends told me about this product. They heard about it on Animal Planet. I am having trouble with my dog who will not go pee. She holds it forever and then when forever gets here, she will pee wherever she is…..I was hoping to order this to try and encourage her to go. Glad i read this site. The rescue people I adopted her from already duped me by telling me she was housebroken. Glad I didnt get scamed twice. Hard enought dealing with a dog that wont go to the bathroom. Have a vet bill of $260 already just to see if she had medical issues, not medical issues, just wont go. I dont want to send her back, but dont know how to handle this. Does anyone know how to untrain a dog who has trained herself to not go? I think they must have kept her kenneled all the time where she came from. Anyway, thanks to all of you for your post which saved me from scam #2.

month I received a post card from the Potty Patch people telling me
that they were having difficulties filling the high volume of orders and
I would receive my order in about another month, and it was my choice
if I’d like to wait or get a refund. I decided to wait, and my order arrived
in a month or so, in excellent condition.
I called them a week later when I received a package of extra pads I had
forgotten that I ordered on a quarterly basis. The customer service rep
was very curteous and we chatted for a while. He told me that even if my
dog didn’t like the potty patch which can happen, they would take it back
for a full refund.
I did have to wait some months to get my product, but I didn’t experience
any scam or fraud…just a company that didn’t have enough supply for
the demand they weren’t prepared for.
Since then my little guy died, so I will be taking them up on the return offer.
This is a huge scam. I ordered mine almost 3 months ago and have never received it. Just by looking at their “customer status” website you can tell something is not right. Luckily, I have not been charged yet. I am worried about them having my cc # though. I am going to fill out that complaint listed above. This company needs to be stopped. DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT! You can go buy it in person at PETCO, which is what I ended up doing. Sadly though, my dog will not use it. I am going to try & sell it on craigslist. Hopefully I’ve spared someone the hassle that I wish I would have known about!
I ordered the potty patch from https://www.officialtvwebsite.com/pottypatch on 08 January 2010. I called their customer service 1-866-518-2294 (CUSTOMER SERVICE??????) on the 12th just to follow up and was told they did not have my order yet. (????) Called again on the 14th – still no sign of my order. Called again on 26 January and was told that it would be delivered on the 5th of February. Today (08Feb) I called again and was told it would be delivered on the 18th of February. If it actually shows up on the 18th or anywhere near the 18th I will be one surprised puppy along with my real puppy who will probably never use the thing anyway. Going to their http://www.customerstatus.com site provides about as much information as their customer service #. (CAN YOU SPELL N-O-N-E?) I had a bad feeling about this order when I placed it but proceeded anyway. (my stupidity) If I thought the order would truly get cancelled and that I would suffer no repercussions from already having given them my debit card, I would cancel the order. All I can do now is wait until the 18th and call again just to be given yet another date of delivery. Bottom line is that if you don’t mind being put off again and again and you figure you’ll still use it when your pup is about 10 years old, and you don’t mind talking to mindless morons who call themselves customer service representatives. (can you spell D-U-H ???) and you have nothing better to do with fifty bucks then go ahead and order it. I have a feeling I’ll be selling mine on eBay …if I ever get it that is. I feel like such a heel! I just finished dealing with an identity scam, and just replaced a debit card that some online company got a hold of, and what an idiot I was for trying to order this thing, and I dont know if it went thru because when i clicked the order now button, it kept telling me my session had timed out…twice. and tthat isnt making sense, until I read some of the stuff on this page, which just leaves my account at risk again UGH! what do they show up as on your statement??? Will it say pottypatch? I will not even try to order again, but I dont know if I ordered it

I called today and did get someone on the phone and they guaranteed me that my credit card would be refunded as soon as they rec’d the item back. My two yorkies would not even approach the potty patch. They were afraid of it so needless to say I don’t want it. I am so nervous to send this back because at this time I, at least, I have merchandise. Do I return or take the hit??? What is your feeling?????? This thing cost me $66.84 with shipping!

Thank goodness I didn’t order one. I made one with a box, with cat litter under a patch of turf. Just pick up turf and scoop out clotter litter. Good luck with all your orders.
OMG! I orderd mine and got it a couple weeks later! Big deal, that’s what my dogs thought,3 chihuahua’s and a dachshund puppy, they examine everything that comes into this house! Not the potty patch, I feel like an idiot and I hope they enjoy my money! “If it sounds to good to be true….”! If the AKC is really backing this product then I’m really disappointed with them!! My dogs have no interest in this piece of ——–,nor do I since it wouldn’t even make a decent door matt!! But I can tell you that I wouldn’t even put it in a yard sale with fifty cents on it and be able to look anyone in the eye and tell them it works! It is now Jan. 16, 2010 and all I got so far was a charge on my credit card! annot find a contact address in Canada – can anyone help? I guess I should have checked this blog before ordering.

don’t do it. I ordered one got 3 and am still fighting about the return on both the 2 extra potty Patch units plus the over $40.00 they charge my credit card for shipping. I have not even begon to get the return shipping charges from they yet,
Donot order using the web site. That is where most of the trouble seems to be. you get no order copy and no idea if the order even went thru. They have over $270.00 of mine and we are still fighting.

My boyfriend and i recently saw the commercial for the Potty Patch and decided to order. We decided to do our order online, and the official website said that they were 39.99 each plus 12.00 s&h. we decided to order 2 large ones, though the ad never specified which size patch cost what. Then it took us through a series of offers, and never once gave us a total or shipping confirmation. We were relieved to get an email a few minutes later confirming our order, but were astonished to see they were charging us $180.00!!!!!!!!! We scanned through the website one last time to find what we had missed about the price, and there at the bottom in print so tiny you need a magnifying glass to read it, there was the price for a large potty patch: 79.99. We totally felt like we were scammed! Furious, I called the customer service number and of course reached someone who could speak very little English. After about 20 minutes of frustration, they finally adjusted our order to two regular-sized potty patches. I even received a phone call a few days later from a man who could speak even less English than the first rep, who told me our order was being shipped the next day and wanted to confirm. About 6 days later we received our order of 2 regular sized patches, with the “free limited-time-only upgrade to super plush anti-microbial blade grass”. Does everyone remember that cheap faux evergreen plastic Christmas garland from the 70’s? Well, that is what this stuff looks and feels like. It does not look or feel like grass, but it smells pretty awful so maybe my dogs will at least roll in it. Like most infomercial offers, this one was too good to be true. But at least I received my order. And we will be checking up on this identity theft scam as well. Also, I noticed there are several similar sites, all claiming to be the official potty patch, but it took us a while to find the only sort of legitimate looking site. So, do your research. Check with the BBB. Also, a bit off subject…if anyone is thinking of getting a Direct Buy membership-DON’T! Talk about a SCAM! (they tried to scam me recently, but I did my homework, and found the truth). ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH! The internet may seem to be a great enemy at times, but it can also be a great ally.
I am from Canada and placed a phone order last night. After the initial order (the small size Putty Patch) the automated message went through a list of other promotions, the voice was cut every so often, I could not stop to say that “no, I do not want this product”, there were no possibility to interact, to stop, cancel or have an update of what actually I am going to receive and at what price. A RELA RIPOFF, A SCAM!
Could someone give me an email address for CANADA so I can stop my “I do not know” order. I do have the customer number but would like an email so I can write and have a prouf of what I sent. Since I called Friday night at 11:00 I have to wait till Monday morning to contact them if only I can get through.

After my complaint on your site, I emailed Mr. Darby, got a quick reply of assurance and within 3 days, received my potty patch. All 5 little yorkies love it and it has worked beautifully for the nights I come home late from work. It is easy clean up, too. Much better than newspaper. I had bought a plastic “tub” type from walmart and put paper in it, but it makes a noise when they get in it and is not level and scares them. They used the potty patch right away. Just thought I owed an update since I had complained. Guess they just needed a push to get it out in a reasonable time. It’s a great product. I will buy one for my daughters little dog, too.

I found the Potty Patch at Petco for 49.95.
On 102709 I ordered Potty Patch as seen on TV. After a month I checked and noted my delivery date was Dec 5. Today 121109 I spoke with customer service that said it had been sent and would be here on 121809. Didn’t seem to think it was UPS but US Mail. No tracking number. I am so disappointed after waiting so long and feel I have been scammed. No way to be sure until the 18th but I would never order from these people again. Are other websites OK for things like pet park or is it all the same bunch?
My wife ordered back in September. Yes I called today to cancel and low and behold it was shipped three days ago and I should receive within 7-14 days! I do not want potty patch and will return if it was ever shipped. Did you know this is presented by the American Kennel Club? Call them and ask why.

As one would expect, we’ve had the same similar issues. We actually received a card asking us to reply by phone using the card they sent informing them if we still wanted the potty patch. I tried to cancelled the order by phone and the woman that answered said it was already being shipped that we should refuse the shipment. Since it was just left at the door, we returned to the post office over 2 wks ago and still have not seen or heard from the sender. We called the Credit Card company to have the charge disputed.
In the meantime, we found and purchased the Potty Patch at our LOCAL PETCO STORE! …
Thank you for all and especially Doggies.com, your information on the Potty Patch ordering issues. I also was about to order two, one for our patio and one for our motorhome when travelling. Yes, their website is terrible and fortunately that is what made me do more research before ordering. Sad to see the problems everyone has had with the company. Seems as though the concept was certainly popular for us dog owners, but we weren’t buying a “concept”.
Does anyone know of a similar product that works and is easy to order or better still a store that carries such an item?

I will save you the time and money: Do not order from these people. Sloppy and suspicious. I received marketing calls and the shared out my info. My product is supposedly “in the mail”.
